How can a cycling app get more people cycling? That’s a question that is always in mind at Bike Citizens. That’s why a new function was developed for the app, with precisely this goal. Cycle-to-Free is for all intents and purposes a fine-tuning of the previous test period of the Bike Citizens app: From now on you can extend this test period indefinitely and quite simply “unlock” the town of your choice by cycling.

App Test period? Yes, but Different!

An App test option is already great, however it’s a well-tried model that can be further enhanced. “With the goal of inspiring as many people as possible to get cycling, the old model no longer meets our needs. So why get the most committed cyclists of all people to pay up?” says Chief Executive Daniel Kofler.

So the test mode was practically turned on its head and a challenge set for every cyclist, that you can literally complete with your own pedal power: Anyone who downloads a town in the Bike Citizens app and cycles at least 100 kilometres in the first 30 days with it, gets the map data for a city for free.

Daniel Kofler, Bike Citizens’ CEO, on the motives: “Studies show that people who have tried it once are more likely to use their bike in the long-term. So we’ve come up with an extraordinary incentive to get more people to give cycling a go.”

Cycle To Free Your City

The previous users of the Bike Citizens app should not be left out – everyone can cycle round an extra town! In this spirit: Get on your bike and grab yourself your (next) town for free!
